In an effort to raise the awareness of excessive sugar intake by the American public, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration released an updated Nutritional Facts label on packaged food last week. These updates are intended to help consumers to more easily understand the amount of calories and sugar levels the foods they eat contain. Increased awareness of this excessive sugar intake has likewise come to the attention of fitness professionals, who perceive the inundation of sugar as a direct threat to the health and wellbeing of Americans.
To help achieve the full athletic and health potential of their clients, the Aspen Club trainers are drawing a direct connection between sugar intake, exercise levels and personal health. Led by Dirk Schultz, the trainers of the signature Hi2T training program have taken on the excessive sugar present in American diets by introducing a special initiative based on Diane Sanfilippo’s book, “21-Day Sugar Detox: Bust Sugar & Carb Cravings Naturally.”
